Her Magic Touch

Her Magic Touch by Sable Hunter, 5/5 Stars    Mystical and Magical

You know the old saying when you are waiting on a bus for ages then 2 or 3 come at once, well that is exactly what is happening at Tebow Ranch, none of the boys had meet “The One “ well not strictly true where Isaac is concerned but that’s another story. Now within a short period of time they had females coming out their ears.

Joseph the dare devil has been injured and is paralysed from the waist down, it’s a real blow to his ego, he was a ladies’ man, they would literary drop at his feet, plus he was into extreme sports, now he felt less than.

Joseph takes this really hard, and when they bring in Cady to help him is very condescending to her, I so wanted to box his ears for the way he treated her, yeah he had been through a tough injury however that is not an excuse to be rude and hurtful.

Cady really is an angel, she has a gift to be able to heal and other gifts , I don’t find this hard to believe we don’t use 100% of our brains, so there is untapped potential, who’s what else we could do. She is so kind and caring of everyone always putting them first, she helps Libby and Jesse without question. The length Cady go’s to for the man she loves is breath taking.

I love how Sable intertwines these books, you get wee snippets of other stories in each one, and there is still an ongoing story.

I loved how Joseph changed from the love them leave them guy and not really wanting to let someone into his heart, to a guy who feels whole at last.

Cady has found more than she ever wish for in the McCoy’s

Hot on Her Trail

Hot on Her Trail by Sable Hunter 5/5 stars  Nerve Racking

There has to be something in the water at Tebow Ranch, and by that I mean the stock tank.

Nathan the youngest of the McCoy’s is convinced he has seen a mermaid, this had me in stitches, and the thought of a mermaid popping up in the middle of a ranch in Texas in their stock tank was just so funny.

Jessie had thought she was doing a good thing agreeing to be a surrogate for the McKay’s, however Mr McCay did not make her feel at ease, and then the news that there been a mix up with the sperm, so she had come to Tebow Ranch to check out the actual father Jacob McCoy, however as the story progresses, Sable builds up the tension to near breaking point, giving you the urge to skip to the end so you can relax, however I love the build up.

Jacob is a bit green when he sees his brother Aron so happy with Libby, all he want is a wife and a family but he does not see that happening any time soon, not that he is short of female company, and then he finds Nathans mermaid, who knocks him for 6.

I hope you love complex stories like me because Sable has loads all going on at the same time, so you really need to soak every little thing in.

Noah is this book really made me mad, who died and made him king grrrr. He has such a stick up his rear end its unreal, I so want to box his ears, one thing’s for sure I want Noah to get his comeuppance.

Things really heat up in this book and you start to wonder what’s going to happen next, as its all go, and it will have you on the edge of your seat

cowboy heat

Cowboy Heat by Sable Hunter 5/5 stars    Hot and tender

I picked this boxset up as it had a free recipe book, plus it was about cowboys, so what’s not to like.

The first line of this book was like, WOW we are starting with this, no introduction just straight into hot and heavy .

Libby stole my heart straight away, cancer is a horrible disease, and Libby is determend to put her remission to good use, she feels she has missed out on so much of life because of this disease, she takes a temp job as housekeeper/ cook on a ranch which is run by 6 single brothers, lucky girl that she is, her strength of character and belief that she should live every day to the full as she does not know just how long this remission will last, is fantastic.

Bess the housekeeper has only told 1 of the brothers about her condition, Jacob who Bess describes as a rock.

Aron is the eldest, he was married however that did not work out as his wife did not want to help look after his brothers, and they all came a package deal, take one take them all, since the divorce and marriage break up, he has sworn off women, to him its clear no woman will want him as well as want to look after his brothers.

Sable has a unique writing skill, where you can go from being sad, then the next thing you know you are crying with laughter.

So in order we have Aron , Jacob, Joseph, Isaac, Noah and Nathan ( the youngest is 13).

These boys have fended for themselves since the sudden death of their parents, and as such they have a unique way to stating they have an interest in a woman, you’ll have to read it to find out what it is.

What I really loved is that Sable had more than one story going on at the same time, there is so much going on, it’s a real roller coaster of a fantastic read

Lifers by Jane Harvey-Berrick 5/5 stars

Lifers by Jane Harvey-Berrick  5/5 stars

The saying never judge a book by its cover is so right in this case, it usually what first attracts me is the cover, and the cover look kind of bleak to me, as was asked to read this book by my friend Sheena and let them know what I thought of her friends book, well here go’s.

99% of stories have a strong male, who helps a female to come to terms with their past, and they become a stronger person, however in this case, is a strong female who brings a male back to life.

I didn’t read any blurb so had no clue what is was about, Torrey is a strong character right from the start, it may sound like she is running away however the time she spends with her mother makes her a better person, even with her mother being a preacher she did not have the most happy childhood, and in the small town where her mother is pastor she is seen as a black sheep.

Then Jordan appears, and you would think it was the devil himself that had showed up, however Jordan is always polite, always looking down at his feet, he resembles a zombie more than the devil, like there is nothing behind his eyes.

Its only really after Jordan starts working on Torreys mothers over grown garden that they get to start to know each other, Torrey wants to know what happened to make him shut down so must, and so full of self loathing, slowly Torrey builds up his trust and he starts to change, she can’t accept the person she is getting to know is this evil destructive person everyone else says he is, even her pastor mother try’s to warn her off him.

Finally Jordan tells Torrey what exactly happened when he was 16, and the afterwards, to say I was mad was an understatement, geez this town would be a nightmare to live in, they only see what they want to see, and as for his parents, sperm and egg donor will be as good as it gets from me, what happened to unconditionally loving your kids?

How can some people see one person as a saint and ignore their every wrong doing however at the same time condemn another as evil, we all make mistakes, some bigger than others, however a mistake is mistake.

Jordan really is a man-child, at times more child than man, however you realize as you read the book, there is a part of him stuck at age 16, Torrey is the first person to see just what a good man he is and could be, and she fights all the way to bring that man out in him.

I found this an emotional read, however a great read, the more I read the more I just wanted to hug Jordan, likewise the more I hated his sperm/ egg donors and there self-rightous town.

Very Emotional

A Reason   by C.L. Champlain    5/5              Very Emotional

I was give this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review, when I started it I thought it was funny have is was for +18’s adults only when I thought I was starting to read a young adult romance book.

Boy was I wrong, the author gets straight to the point, I was invested in reading all of this book right from the start, you may want to have the following to hand before you start reading it, a stress ball so you don’t break your Kindle with temper and rage, tissues cause there going to be tears, chocolate cause you’re going to need it.

Where do I start with the heroine of this book, strength of character does not even start to describe her, she may be small like me but by god her inner strength is phenomenal, at the start there is a character I did not take to, and before the end that turned to pure hate, I could reasons as long as my arm however I don’t do spoilers.

Ryan, you could tell straight away he was as straight as a die, a true protector, Marine was written all over him from the start.

Be warned this book deals with both physical and sexual abuse, so be prepared to be a wreak, it moves at a fast pace however it’s in line with the story, the author leads you into a false sense of security, then rips your heart out, making you feel, anger, distress, hate, nausea and grief all at the same time.

Some things in life can’t be forgiven, it’s a real roller coaster of a read, this is the first book by this author I have read, it will not be the last, was it emotional yes, however a fantastic read.

Emma is not only a true survivor, but also a heroine with amazing inner strength

A Cracker of a First Book

Letting Go

By J.M.Witt

4/5

A Cracker of a First Book

When I was asked to read Michelle’s first book I had little to go on, however I like that means I am not looking for stuff to happen.

Chapter 1 is the quiet before the storm , chapter 2 packs a punch, Michelle is very brave to have this as her second chapter, and she really pulls it off, and you don’t find out the what and why of chapter 2 until later, (very clever ).

Cass is level headed with an overly protective Cop of a brother, Calvin is so sweet, and I just love how he would do anything for his sister.

Cass’s attraction for James go’s back months I just love how they re- meet, and as it turns out James is just as protective as Calvin just I don’t think he sees it, however its as clear as the nose on your face as you read this book.( James can’t see the wood for the trees )

Cass has had more than her fair share of trauma to deal with in her young life, this makes her slightly insecure, and has a tendency to doubt others intentions, as it turns out James is just as insecure, on the outside he is a real cool playboy however inside he is insecure and is scared to open up, he try’s to keep people at arms length and handle his turmoil on his own, it takes some time for him to finally let Cass in.

I really loved how you got to see this story from more than one point of view, made is so much more interesting and enjoyable, there are a couple of low life’s that try to spoil everything, however one of their backgrounds I did not see coming , great twist ( I so love twists you don’t see coming ).

There are a few things going on in this book, and I’m sure they will appear in the future books, I am also sure there will be more surprises and twists to come, however that does not mean that this book ends on a cliff hanger, not all the loose ends are tied up however there is enough unresolved to leave you wanting more and still have an enjoyable ending to the book.

Baby Daddy (Scandals series #1)

By Kathy Clark

5/5

I was very lucky and I got an ARC copy of this book to review, I was so dying to read it as the blurb was so interesting.

So this book has loads and I do mean loads going on, starts off with Killeen learning the hard way that her boyfriend is a looser is the worst possible way.

I just love the way all the characters had the bomb dropped on them all together at the one time and all their different reactions to the shocking news.

We add to this the attraction Killeen has for Christopher as soon as she sees him.

I loved the way Killeen struggles with her emotions, as she comes to terms with now having siblings, being left to make a life or death decision about what to do about her present state all on her own , and this out of control attraction she feels for Christopher she try’s very hard to put down to raging hormones.

I love a good who done it and I always look for clues as I’m reading, and I was so sure I had caught who the killer was, I was wrong and that does not happen often, well done Kathy.

This book is a real rollercoaster, it’s fast paced and action packed, it had me close to tears a few times, it’s funny in places as well, I’ve really taken to all 5 siblings and can’t wait to read book 2
