Awesome Read

Bane by D.H Sidebottom *****

I was given this book as a gift, it’s the first book I’ve read from this author, I was pulled into the story from the start, in the prologue Esther seems a nice normal quiet girl, who just wants to spend time with her best friend Rik who is three years older than her and from the wrong side of the tracks, her mother finds them and takes her away she vanishes that day

The book starts 14 years later with Esther now Milly as a PA, she loves her job however it is written in a way that you know she has dark secrets, her boss she sees as the father she never had , her father was not that loving, then the world she has began to love and thrive in crashes down when she witness es the murder of her boss, weeks later to her horror the company who had been trying to buy her old company out, had won and they were the new owners .

She hates the owner of Warne Industries with a passion, he makes her an offer she can’t refuse , ten to her utter shock the co-owner who has always been the silent partner turns out to be Rik

However this Rik is nothing like her best friend of 14 years ago, he is cold and hard, now she also has fight her feeling’s for Rik resurfacing, feelings she has kept buried for 14 years.

Here is where the book starts to twist and turn, Esther’s past comes back to haunt her with avengence , with more secrets and lies than you can shake a stick at, shocking secrets are uncovered, and a rival takes extreme revenge on her, through all Rik is there for her loving her , just when you think this book has come to its climax there’s another twist.

I started this book in the morning and could not put it down read in one sitting , fantastic story of love conquers all

Best gift in a long time

Brilliant First Book

Forbidden Love by Harper Phoenix

This is Harpers first book and as an avid PNR reader, I was delighted to come across a first time author, who writes as if she is a well established author, not a first time author.

I was intrigued from the start, I totally loved the thought of a shifter being a hybrid, this is not something I read before in any paranormal book

Devon has been brought up from the day her mother left by her father, moving around continually has become a way of life, now her father has sent her across the ocean to the UK to attend University, for the first time ever she is on her own, her father has taught her well she knows she must keep secret at all cost she is a wolf-shifter, she knows nothing of the wolf-shifter world, or any shifter world for that matter, then on a night out she stumbles into Jared

Jared is his father’s heir and has been groomed all his life to become the next Alpha of his pack, his father even has his pure bred mate all mapped out for him , that is until one night he scents Devon, and his life is changed forever.

What I loved about this book was how Harper made you relate to not only Devon but Jared as well, what happens when your world as you know it is turned upside down added to that one of them is in a totally new country.

Harper weaves the story only giving away small bits of information at a time, loads of twists and turn, shocking revelations , kidnapping, murder, a traitor in the pack, this book has it all.

If you love Suzanne Wright you will love this it’s in the same vain, and includes the best put down line ever, you will just need to read it to find out what it is

Harper’s first book is a cracker an well worth 5 stars

A Brown Eyed Handsome Man

A Brown Eyed Handsome Man by Sable Hunter  5/5 Stars   Just Awesome

What I’ve really come to love about Sable Hunter is she does not shy away from things, nothing is taboo, so far we have had cancer, dyslexia, surrogacy, paralysis, faith healing, in this book our heroine Lilibet has a limp, which is the way she was born, however the reaction she gets just leaves me cold, what difference does it make to a person’s personality if they limp or not?

Kane is not only the town Sheriff but also a friend to the McCoy boys, he is such a gentleman and is so gentle to Lilibet, don’t get me wrong he can be a real bad ass if he wants to be, and what he thought was a sleepy town he had come to sure had a hellva lot going on and he has his hands, however the only thing he wants as a handful is Lilibet. Kane is also hit by a shock revelation, miss unstandings and more trouble than you could shake a stick at

I love how Sable has really strong females as her heroines, and these females really don’t see just how strong they are, Lilibet is no exception, she strides to make her small business work to provide money not only for herself, but also to help her brother, she can’t see why Kane could ever be interested in her.

As usual they is more than one story going on at the same time with plenty of twists and turns, Sables books never end on a cliff-hanger, they just leave you wanting more
